Created by the National Cyber Security Center, Cyber Essentials is a government-backed and industry supported scheme which helps organisations protect themselves against common cyber threats. It includes a set of basic controls that organisations can implement on all devices (Phones, laptops, workstations etc.) Which in turn strengthens the organisations cyber security posture and provides a Cyber Essentials certification.
Having the Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates to customers, suppliers and stakeholders that an organisation takes cyber security seriously and has taken steps to mitigate the risk of common cyber attacks.
Additionally, a Cyber Essentials certified organisation can face reduced costs of rebuilding/amending any damage caused in the event of a cyber attack, reducing the impact of a cyber attack on the organisations finances.

It must be noted that this scheme is designed for UK based organisations therefore the certification process may differ for those in other countries.

If your organisation/business is interested in becoming Cyber Essentials certified, we assist with the initial requirements review and self assessment, which covers the five key technical controls. This is to test your eligibility and compliance with the pass criteria before an accredited certification body carries out a final external assessment to verify the information provided by the self-assessment.
After your organisation passes all checks, a Cyber Essentials certification is provided alongside official logos to display on contracts, websites and marketing materials.
Finally, to maintain the Cyber Essentials certification, regular assessments must be carried out to ensure that your business continues to meet the schemes requirements.
